
Uber Loss Rp 9.4 Trillion, Head of Finance Hengkang - The ride-sharing service suffered a loss of 708 million US dollars or approximately Rp 9.44 trillion in the first quarter of 2017. This figure does not include compensation of shares for employees and other details. Although losers Uber bragging this sat still have money of 7.2 billion US dollars or about Rp 96 trillion. Uber also said it has equity funds and funding worth 15 billion US dollars or about Rp 200 trillion.
Losses suffered by Uber is currently smaller than the loss in the fourth quarter of 2016 and then reached 991 million US dollars, or about Rp 13.2 trillion. Whether related or not to corporate finance, clear Head of Finance Uber, Gautam Gupta announced his resignation from the san Francisco-based transport startup.
The announcement is shortly after Uber releases its financial statements in the first quarter of 2017. Gupta will effectively leave Uber as of July 2017. He then moved to another startup which is also domiciled in san Francisco, USA.
"As long as I'm here (Uber), I'm very inspired with Uber's excellent operation," Gupta said. Known Gupta joined Uber since 2013 and then as Head of Financial. His boss at the time was Brent Callinicos who served as Chief of Finance. Callinicos then left Uber in 2015 to join a transport startup named Hyperloop One. The Chief of Finance's position has been vacated to date.
Gupta should have taken office but did not happen. This is pointed out to be one of the reasons why Gupta left Uber apart from other reasons. Lately the problem of becoming a good friend of Uber, ranging from sexist issues, legal issues with Google, involvement with CEO Travis Kalanick with the Trump government, to debt with the driver's partner because of miscalculations commissions.
