A double attack targeting the Iranian Parliament and the tomb of Ayatollah Khomeini in the nation's capital on Wednesday (07/06) shocked both the Iranians and foreigners there.
This is because Iran has been relatively safe compared to countries in the Middle East region.
"So far, Iran is relatively safe overall compared to the Middle East countries or its surroundings, which is surprising not only for the Iranian people but also for foreigners in Iran," said the Head of Protocol and Consular Affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, Dedi Yanuardi, in An interview with the BBC Rohmatin Bonasir.

The attack on the parliament building, according to Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Hossein Zolfaghari, was carried by armed men disguised in women's clothing and broke into the building and opened fire.

The security forces are trying to seize the Iranian Parliament building.
So far the death toll has been reported to 12 and many others injured. The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for two attacks in the Iranian capital.
If the ISIS claims are true, then this attack becomes the first ISIS attack in Iran's predominantly Shia Muslim region. ISIS considers Shi'ism a distorted teaching and must be fought.
A Tehran resident, Fatar, said he and his family members were shocked and worried about the recent events.
"They were surprised because this was the first ISIS attack in Iran, so they were shocked, they panicked, why is that?" Says Fatar.
What makes people shocked, added Fatar who is fluent in Indonesian, is that they assume ISIS not operating in their country.
"People in the city of Tehran are a bit worried because they think maybe ISIS will attack again in Tehran but the police said not to worry because now it's safe. All the terrorists have been killed."
