DOHA - Qatar says it faces a lies and engineering campaign aimed at placing the Gulf Arab state under guardianship, after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt sever ties with the country.
Added, as a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Qatar declared its commitment to the Gulf Cooperation Council charter, respect for the sovereignty of other countries, and not to interfere in their affairs.
Previously proclaimed, Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt severed diplomatic ties with Qatar, after they accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and meddling in the internal affairs of other countries.
The state news agency Bahrain in a brief statement announced that the citizens of Qatar have 14 days to leave Manama, the capital of Bahrain. Doha, continued the announcement, has intervened in Manama's domestic affairs.
Saudi Arabia then did the same thing, with the excuse of "national security". "Citing (reason) for national security protection, Riyadh announced it has severed ties with Doha and closed all land, sea and air contacts," the Saudi government statement said.
