Qatar has begun to break through restrictions on sea ties by its neighbors by using ports in Oman. The first cargo ship has arrived in Qatar from the port city of Sohar in Oman. Qatar's port authorities also announced two new services directly from Hamad port to two ports in Oman, Salalah and Sohar, to avoid the need for port services in neighboring United Arab Emirates, as so far.
